“Haramkhane” sidewalk was laid out in the 1910s In the Qajar era and there was an obvious need and support for change. it is lined by the sequence of the shoemaker's market to the west and the governorate to the south and the “Baghmishe” City gate to the east. It has been planned by the request of Tabriz municipality to be an appropriate Urban Sidewalk.
Detailed improvements in the sidewalk include new seating, improved lighting, and a paving strategy that utilizes visual and textural contrasts. The contemporary interventions continue Qajar period architecture’s original design, using traditional Motifs and materials Qajar brick and Native stone. A once hostile urban environment has been retrofitted and restored as a truly civic space.
